The shipper gave me a quote and asked for the rate on lane, which is 800 miles. Since these trucks are rarely seen on load boards other than Truck stop, and even after posting, I haven't received a single call, I need a rough estimate for a walking floor dry van. I'm also wondering how mulch would be loaded in such a truck—should it be open top? I would appreciate any advice.
I would like to know about Walking floor dry van

I’ve never seen a floor in a van, usually it’s a solid vinyl top if it needs to stay water tight for a farm product,
They are a lot of money, you buy one when you need to move your own stuff or your direct customer needs you to buy one, no reason to go through a broker
edit, just noticed mulch, that will need a open top walking floor, dump trailer or belt, why are you bidding on stuff if you have no idea what equipment you need?exhausted379 and Ruthless Thank this. -
They're very expensive and they're not van trailers. All of the walking floors around here have a covered top, you uncover it to load it, 48' long and their axles are all the way in the rear. Also, your truck will need a wet kit. Pretty much all of them around here run the landfill.

Yeah, all the walking floor trailers I have see have an open top with a roll tarp. Most of them are used in the garbage/trash industry but some wood chip haulers use then and I'm quite sure a few other uses. Normally some sort of loose product, not packaged.
Yeah, you'll need a hydraulic system to work/operate the walking floor.77fib77 Thanks this.
