Sorry but I don't have wires and plumbing running all over the place, nor is my plumbing. My condensor is in the passenger side box and the apu uses a heat pump for heating. It is all nice and heat, I still have room in my passenger side box fir storage. The diesel line us attatched to the jump side tank and it uses only 1/10 gallon per hour.

Well, my remote start is wireless (Honda EU3000is, cobbled together apparently), so no wires on mine neither...:biggrin_25522:
Only wires run from the generator, which is held in place by my cobbled together 1/4" fully welded and gusseted steel brackets which use the the trucks OEM 20mm bolts and drawer slides rated at 500lbs (generator is @130), go to my cobbled together Dometic Commercial rooftop ac unit and my totally redneck GFI socket mounted in my truck. Battery charger is an automatic affair, which is cobbled into the feed for the inverter which is mounted next to it. I never use high grade heat shrink tubing (NOT the junk you get at Walmart etc), cable clips with screws, cable shielding on exterior rated wire, grade 8 or higher bolts/nuts/washers, or anything like that. Nope, not me, never do such a thing.......according to some that like to lose space under the bunk, and use unreliable and overpriced systems that require dealers to work on them. Mind, I would guess that 75% of the folks coming out with such drivel dont pay for anything like that themselves neither, so a moot point I guess.
I would rather spend $4k on my welder and plasma cutter and make my own system than the $10k they want for the pre-packaged noise makersmyself, but to each their own I say. Difference is, I dont generally insult those that go that route, and ASSume they know nothing.:biggrin_25525:

WOW guess you told us. Happy you like your home made apu. I like my TK apu it has been very good to me three years no break downs push the button it starts. Call me lazy but I just do not have time to mess with building and repairing. Then there lugging gas around filling it up just more to do on top of long day already. So be happy with your stuff it not for all of us.

Totally agree mate, and that was my point. I have never put anyone down for buying a "bolt on" system, thus get my back up when folks think that if it isnt factory made, it's junk. I can promise anyone that I make stuff stronger than 99% of OEM stuff, just the way I do things. I have the tools, knowledge and experience to make my own stuff, thus do it myself. I know not everyone can do that, and thats fine by me 100%
I have a LOT quicker payback time vs a bolt on deal, and that was my intention when I priced everything out.
As far as the gas goes, it has never bothered me personally, but understand when folks think its a big deal.
At the end of the day, I have under $3k in my total setup, and it pays for itself time and time again at that price. I only wish I had done it years ago!
I think, so long as a driver has SOMETHING that can keep him/her comfortable in all temperatures, keeps the batteries charged, and saves fuel, it's a winning situation!
