Are they enforcing the new idling regulations in California? Do you
almost need to be hooked up a company that are equipped with
APU to be comfortable while out on the road. Just wondering?

I've seen drivers on other groups that have been hit in CA for idling. IIRC their fine was $350. It' a bad law and I would hope that some common sense plays into it soon. BTW, you can't even run your APU in CA.

You can only idle for 5 minutes before being issued a ticket?
I wonder if police with nothing else to do will start patrolling truck stops with a stop watch! -
One thing is for sure, the police car that is watching you will be idling the entire time it takes to determine if you was idling past the legal amount of time.

We're still working n fighting this folks, and I am busting my butt on it.. between other recent crisis.

I'll start driving an 08 truck next week. my future boss said these trucks were exempt from idling laws and that the engine burns cleaner than an APU and doesn't use a lot more fuel than an APU.

I was under the impression that NO engine currently made will pass the anti emission laws, except propane burning apu...
