Don't be confused by the title. I believe all of the horror stories and the trusted people that I ask. But it seems like the majority of the trucks up and down the interstate are 07' and newer emissions trucks. How are they running them and not going broke? It just seems like if they were all bad and all costing a fortune to run like we hear you wouldn't see them having the majority of the market. Can anyone shed light on this for me? I'm having a nightmare of a time finding an 06' or older truck that isn't ragged out or have way too many miles. The only thing from keeping me from buying a 13' or newer truck is strictly the word of mouth of 'just stay away from them'. lol
If emissions trucks are bad why are 90% on the road emissions trks

Have a Custom Shop build you a pattern of whatever older truck you like. You might pay a little more and possible leave off certain things to keep the vehicle manageable by you.Rideandrepair and stillwurkin Thank this. -

I really dont think these trucks are that bad. Granted, my 12.7 Detroit was way easier to be around but my Volvo has been good to me. My biggest gripe was nearly 7k for a vgt. I've replaced injectors too at about the same price. Besides that the truck has done good. It's a 2012. I think alot of the horror stories are from 2008-2010. I dunno.... everybody loves to hate something

Because everything has a lifespan, even Old Iron trucks.
Because while the engines were better, aerodynamics were not. With the exact same specs between a Cascadia and a Cascadia Evolution is between .1 and .2 mpg, minimum. On a one truck operation that is between 150 and 300 gallons of fuel a year, so not that significant. But on ten, twenty or 100 trucks you start talking about real money. When you compare a Century Class to a Cascadia you are talking .5 mpg, easily .
Because big fleets tear up their stuff and have to replace it, and they have to replace with whats new. When they are done, their trucks get resold, so the used truck market is heavily influenced by tge large fleets.Mattflat362, Rideandrepair, Lepton1 and 5 others Thank this.
