You would probably log Personal Conveyance to first safe place to park. Write on ELD truck repairs on side of road. When parked at first safe place you will have to take 10 hours off.

You get a local job. Then you don’t have to worry about it.

How about you just get a job?
At this rate you will have spent years asking questions and still not have a job.

    Learn by doing....

Looks like you're finding out about this industry. You don't really have much control over your day. So much things you have to deal with, almost always out of your control. Weather, other people bossing you around, that shiney Pete breaking down on you, not in the driveway of the dealer, but of course 85 mi from town on the side of the interstate ! And you're wondering can you sleep while the mechanic works on it ? Answer, yes, but be prepared to keep waking up when he taps on the window and wants you to "try turning it over". Son, you are married to the truck and the lifestyle, you will adjust or it won't work out for you. Luck to ya' :biggrin_25516:

If you've been through training, you should know hours of service rules.
    How about working at stripes?

Usually if you are broke down and in the shop, you get breakdown pay, your hotel paid, a stipend for higher end hookers and some spare change to put on the slots if you are in a state where they have that. And if your company doesn't give you beer money, eff those guys, move on.

If you want to make money, you need to drive 11 hours, if you have the hours and the miles are available. The way to maximize your income is to run hard. Not everyone likes to run hard, you can run however you like, just be on time for your appointments.

More than 3.5 million people work as truck drivers, an occupation dominated by men who hold more than 90% of truck driving jobs. Driving large tractor-trailers or delivery trucks is one of the largest occupations in the United States.
If 3.5 million truckers can hack it, why can't you?
