If Walmart wants to compete with Amazon...

Walmart is investing or behind jet.com, which is a mess in other ways, but is their attempt to compete. I tried to shop on there because I had a coupon and just gave up. I think the original WM website has to stay simple because of them not wanting to scare off their current client base.

Amazon is not a terribly profitable operation, it is subsidised by AWS which is highly profitable, so will be hard to lowball them.

They're all sort of blending together, ebay is trying to sell like Amazon with customer guarantees and improved product search, Amazon is using multiple sellers like ebay, and Ali Baba is looming out there like a great white shark, the largest online store outside the US.

I asked a Best Buy clerk why the in-store prices weren't the same as on the website, it's because they consider the online BB a competitor and so with match them. So if you go to BB, head to an open laptop or use your phone, browse to the BB website and get them to match that price.

 

In my experience that 2 day shipping is really 4 Days.

 

It's 2 business days. So if you order on Friday, yea might be that long. Ive ordered from them 3 times in the last month on a Monday and have my stuff in the mailbox, at my door or at the store for pickup by Wednesday afternoon

 

I can order something from amazon on friday and get it Sunday...

 

And i can order my pizza from little caesar's and have it instantly... since we are on the topic of irrelevance.

That's a pretty cool story but there's a difference between 'can' and 'have.' Amazon prime delivery has membership fees and their 2 day shipping policy reads 2 business days. But you can compare the 2 incorrectly all you want.

Well...your wrong about the 2 day...I've ordered so many things from amazon on 2 day shipping and got it 2 days from when i ordered it.

 

You were just comparing ordering on Monday to receive Wednesday to ordering Friday and receiving on Sunday. Make up your mind. You aren't getting an amazon delivery on Sunday without having prime. And i know you can get 2 day shipping from anyone who offers it. It's not exclusive to amazon or walmart. As long as your item ships that day. Either way, you are paying to have it on Sunday. Try again.

 

I understand you drive for walmart but you can get off the koolaid a bit...you attenpt to discredit anyone who says anything negative at all about Walmart...

 

WM .com is free 2business day shipping.
Prime is 2 days after you order is placed, makes no difference whether it is a weekend or not. I've had AMZ actually overnight it at no cost cuz it was cheaper than Sunday delivery.

Conversely I've had WM .com order on Monday b4 noon, and gotten message stating package delayed and not delivered till Thursday.

 

Exactly. As i said before, in my experience 2 days turns into 4 or even longer. And I'm talking business days, not calendar days.

Advertising 2 day shipping but not shipping a product for 2 days so it ends up being 4 or 5 before it arrives is NOT 2 day shipping.
