why are you signing up for a home daily account?
Seriously, why would people do this? Especially when they live more than an hour away from the yard? I get wanting to be home for your family, but I think making your wife spend 4 hours a day in the car just to drop you off and pick you up isn't conducive to a happy home or well adjusted kids.
Also, why would anyone think a home daily account based in a metropolitan area won't involve driving in urban environments?
If you don't have a car . . .

?
So where did that come from?
And, oh, I never would. Doesn't sound sensible.Last Call, JoeyJunk, Bean Jr. and 1 other person Thank this. -
It came from real life. Trainee called me to say he was quitting before he even got on the truck because he thought "home daily" meant he could drive the truck home every night. He lives 65 miles from the yard and believed that the company would be cool with him parking at the Piggily Wiggly down the street from his house.

Will that jet-pack fly 65 miles on a single charge?
Then he needs the equipment at home to recharge it for the return flight.
Cool idea, even if it is nonsense.
Cool video, too.homeskillet, gentleroger, JoeyJunk and 2 others Thank this. -
Being a regional/local driver most of my career, I'll try and field this one. Living in primarily rural areas, many of my jobs required "getting to the job", I had an hour one way limit, and even THAT was tough sometimes. The only reason I did it, was because I wanted a family life, in a rural setting, and brother, let me tell you, it was worth every minute of that commute. Fact is, I'd drive all night just to make it home to put my kids on the school bus in the morning, and off I went again, much to the ex-wifes dismay, I might add. It was a life I chose, and being with family or those pesky after school functions, I think, made my kids better people today, because "dad was there" when they were small. No kids, or family, yes, with the rolling apartments of today, then a truck is all I'd have.

Well, I park my truck 5 minutes from my house. But, if I have to leave it at the yard for service or a repair, I drive one of the boss man’s pickups home.

I work pretty the same hours now my dad did. I’m up at 4 AM and sometimes not making it home until 6-7 PM, and my dad didn’t come to anything “after school” related. He couldn’t if he wanted to.
In retrospect I can’t blame him though. He was the breadwinner and somebody had to keep us fed.
