but the owner of my last company did tell me" if you roll the truck i wont fire you -i might be some pissed off --but why should i let some other company benefit from what you learned at my expense"bowtieboy, Saddle Tramp and tut Thank this. -
My employer makes us pay for all damages upto the $1,000 insurance deductible, it's permissable by state law, unless it's not our fault. I've paid for damage 4 times in 13 yrs with this company, only one was over $1,000, the others were $400 or less. The one that was over $1,000, the total damage was $3,400, rather then turn it into the insurance company, they split it with me. That was my last incident, I learned my lesson.

My drivers pay for any damage caused by them to the equipment. If the vehicle is a totaled the driver pays the $5,000 deductable.
I had one driver with 25 years of experiance cause $7,500 in the first leg of his trip.
Second leg he did $4,500 damage to another vehicle.
His last drop in Dallas he backed into a truck causing $6,500 damages.
Tried doing a U turn on a 2 lane highway with a 53' trailer, towing bill $1,500 repair to truck $2,500 trailer repair $2,400
He finally made it home, backing to a dock he hit a 2008 379 Peterbuilt causing $6,500 damage to truck. -
