Buy a new 2021 T680 Kenworth with a Cummins X15 450 and endurant 12sp auto for 150k and put 15k down on it. Finance the additional 135k for 5 yrs. Buy a used or new trailer cash. Use the remaining money to get started and run for 4 to 6 weeks till the money starts coming in.

@OP... he was saying you just want validation because 90% of people come here just for that. Forgive him/us for assuming your part of the 90%.

    Jersey ports

Beginning July 1, 2019, only Drayage Trucks that are equipped with an engine that meets or exceeds federal Environmental Protection Agency on-road emission standards for 2010 model year heavy-duty diesel-fueled engines shall be permitted to complete registration in the DTR via the PortTruckPass website.

I remember reading something about Oregon or Washington looking into it.
    Nothing concrete yet.

And without making this about politics there is a election coming.
    Things can change fast.

I advice anyone that is thinking about buying a old truck to really study their markets before deciding.

One of our family friends bought his 1st truck and got his own #s 2 years ago at 61. Bought a 97 international for 12k needing an inframe/trans/paint. Stayed a company driver while getting the truck road worthy

Personally if u have all these questions I would suggest you read on buying a truck. So many of these questions will be answered. You have 70K and is asking what to do... Only you can answer that.

Valid point - something one has to consider in the original business plan.

I’ve been to California twice in the last 5 years. It was never part of my original plan.

If you're talking style, then I'd probably agree with you. If you're talking about a reliable work truck, I'd buy a Volvo
