In 2025, the U.S. government is opening the door to 65,000 additional foreign truck drivers through the H-2B visa program—effectively flooding an already strained job market.
By nearly doubling the number of these visas, Washington is giving certain trucking companies a green light to sidestep hiring American drivers. Why? Because they can pay foreign workers less and avoid offering the wages and benefits that American drivers have earned through experience, hard work, and sacrifice.
Let’s be clear: this isn’t about filling a labor shortage—it’s about cutting costs at the expense of U.S. workers.Siinman, Constant Learner, LoneRanger and 5 others Thank this. -
Just one week across I-44, I-40, I-80 - I may just start a count tomorrow as I head east - my guess is at least 50% are foreign born immigrants, and I have no idea of their legal status. Of that 50% of traffic, there are half of them that can barely back a combination up, stay in their lane, keep the cell phone out of their hands,
Without entering into the conversation of common courtesy and professional behavior.
I call this thread valid. And I'm an immigrant.
You can easily tell by Dot numbers - company names, taped over stickers for company names, and the ones that have a fella with an AK 47 in his hands pasted on the side of the truck. Yes - have seen that several times.Siinman, SL3406, Constant Learner and 6 others Thank this. -
I had a student once had all his pre-trip stuff written out in arabic next to the english check list.
I was going through it with him once.
"Check all belts and hoses" he says.
"Whats a belt" I ask.

And none of them try to operate legally. I had to go rescue a sany 500 excavator at the scale. 109,000 pound machine. He put it on 7 axles. I asked why the hell he even tried. He knew he couldn’t scale it. He just looked at me stupid like and shrugged.
He knew and didn’t give a ####. Welcome to modern US trucking.Siinman, '88K100, FullMetalJacket and 3 others Thank this. -
Reading what you said about names made me remember about the pics I made few weeks ago.
I have no idea how this guy made it to the dock. The company's name is Camel Brothers

If that is the case then perhaps more should be done to train drivers well. Don't think the EAD is the issue in this case.
