If its like michigan, you can post bond right away. In other words you get a ticket, they take your license right on the side of the road. The officer explains what posting bond is, you give them some money..I gave officer $4O, he gave me my license back......dealt with the ticket later on.....

I believe this only applies if you have an out of state license.....

someone else may able to shine some light on this....

had a speeding ticket in illinois a few years back took my information, checked for warrants, gave me a court date, and gave me my lic. back. all they really wanted was the money. the state trooper called himself the shark, around the 200 mm on I-74.

The city that i work for sometimes get fraudulent checks. I am always surprised when somebody gives bad check to an entity that can send you before a judge for writing bad checks. Check fraud can be a felony. When i go after bad checks i always call the writer first and give them a chance to make them good. Costs the city money to prosecute them, however if some body tried to play me by giving me a bad check i wouldn't make that courtesy phone call. I just send it in for prosecution.

I just went to traffic school to keep it off my record. That was in the 90s - last one I got in IL.

There's a real easy way to avoid all of this. Don't get a ticket.
