Congrats on getting through training ONGB, I'm a couple weeks behind you. Also, thank you! As I've gone through this process, whenever I got ready to post a question, I found that if I looked, you had already asked and gotten the answers. I hope one day to meet you, and alot of the rest of the people on this board, out there on the road. Again, thank you, and be safe

Hey, at least I have enough sence to stay the hell out of Maine!JustSonny Thanks this. -
I remember when I finally got off the trainer's truck and was given 5 days off. When I came back they did not have a tractor for me yet. I was starting to think this (trucking) was never going to happen. But it did.
When I first got my truck I still didn't 'own' it you know what I mean - I was still nervous operating it in certain environments, like narrow streets with cars parked, or truckstops for example. My advice, just take your time and after a few days it hits you like an epiphany and you feel like if it can be done by the best driver, you can do it too.JustSonny, jbutcher23 and Texas-Nana Thank this. -
Sonny, I was scared to death at first and heck I was with my husband. It wasn't until one night in a sudden ice storm in WY during the middle of the night as I was driving through these mountains where the roads would be bridges between them that I finally "owned" being a driver. I watched other trucks sliding across the bridges and barely making it across before going into ditches. I was scared they or I would go off the side of the bridges.
I made it and drivers behind me said "well done driver, i'm following iin your tracks". I suddenly was a driver. Okay so I was a driver that was shaking, almost wetting her pants and wanting to stop and have a good cry....but I was a DRIVER.
You're a DRIVER Sonny. And such a valuable member of this forum family. I'm just so proud you're with the same company as us.JustSonny Thanks this.
