    So, scottied67...

Why aren't you sharing your own bunk with your dog?

Not asking for much, are you?

    scottied67 Thanks this.

(she stays in the quadrant of the bed nearest the window all the time)

Would that be closest to my feet, or my head?

That's $.20 a mile for ALL dispatched miles , which includes miles the teammate is in the bunk with the dog .

    scottied67 and fr8monkey Thank this.

Other than a slight gas problem and licking himself all night, he's really a good dog. Just keep some Scooby snacks with you!:biggrin_2559:

    scottied67 Thanks this.

Scottie's dog Abby does not work. Just sleeps and chases small critters and makes Scottie run to keep up.

    scottied67 and fr8monkey Thank this.

I don't have any requirement for experience. If the driver is 'green' I would be right there to help with shifting or backing or whatever the issue was.

Well, it always goes back to the dog thing. I took the dog on board last May or so but I wanted to train or team sometime around last August but my wife did not want the dog back home. To be honest I love the solo life but I do need to square away some bills etc, start thinking about some job that gets me home every night for my son.

If we drive 5000 miles in a week, that's $1000 gross to the driver I hire. Tax pros recommend setting aside 25%. That would leave $750 spending cash. A wise and savvy driver would have to seriously think about this offer, be willing to shop their own health insurance, stuff like that.

I'm not 100% sure about how the arrangement works, but I have resources and will find out exactly--- I know the driver has to go through Swift orientation to learn Swift's way. I would pay their workman's comp insurance premium I think and pay would be weekly.

The top bunk does not have restraint system so I will be in there with the dog when the truck is moving too. When the truck is parked, the dog typically hangs out up front on guard duty anyway.
