IN Recognition of my Grandfather

This is a post from cdr that I thought was pretty heart felt and wanted to share with all of you....his words.

It's good to read stories that sum up the trucker's life. my grandfather hauled cars in the early 50's. I never got to know him, but when I read that story it made me think of him. with 7 kids and a wife, it had to be hard to be on the road delivering pleasure for someone else.

He retired, and died the year before I was born. now, as I prepare to start my own journey in the "big rigs", I think of my wife and kids, and hope I am half the man, and driver that he was

To bad cdr,that you didn't get to know him but still, I'll bet he'll be riding along with you in spirit. (AND, I'll just be willing to bet you are...every bit the man!)

I know I felt the same when I read it.

I got real sentimental and thought wow...this is pretty cool to write about a person such nice words that you didn't even get to know.
