Hello everyone. I hope I posted this in the right thread group. So long story short, I just finished paying off my court fees, now I can get my regular drivers license. Due to my licence being expired for a little over a year, will I be able to get training? Or does my licence being inactive for that time prohibit me?
Inactive licence.

In Arkansas if you do not have a Valid License, you will have to road test, provide Birth Cert, fees and test successfully for it. Whatever kind it might be. Just remember if you test in a big rig you need to do with a manual transmission truck.
Also you will need to keep your DOT medical valid because it's tied to the CDL now. Unless you have sworn a oath to Tier two on paper and signed. This will allow you to retain your CDL A or B without it being downgraded to a car license because you do not have a current valid DOT medical to go with it. -
Am confused did you ever hold a CDL? was lost of license due to DUI? I think there was something someone told me it gets suspended from DUI recently you can't get a CDL maybe I was mistaken for a year or so If that is what happened. you might be able to find a school but if it was a DUI and within recently would be hard to have any insurance from a school maybe Chinatown would know.

My regular drivers license expired last year in January. Because I owed court fee, I was unable to renew until it was paid, so I got a regular ID. Now that I've paid it off, im getting my driver's licence here in Wisconsin. That's what I was trying to say. Does that gap of having just a ID hold me back from getting hired?

Call cdl schools and ask. Policies vary by school and trucking company.
If worse comes to worse, you can drive a non-cdl box truck until you're qualified for cdl training.
At least, with a box truck, you're gaining some experience with traffic and other trucking related activities.
Put your location on your profile, so we know the hiring area you live in for various companies. Which city/town are you near in Wisconsin? -
