    I won't run county roads when I can run 6 , 20 or 30 .
I ran 30 from ft Wayne to Merrillville last Sunday and didn't notice any increase over the norm .
I do know all my pals that run the northeast from the Midwest have quit running the Indiana toll road including me .

I get quite a few loads that run me into that area of northern Indiana, or southern Michigan. I always avoid the toll road by going via US20 or I94... And I will continue to use these routes and others as they are legal STAA truck routes.

    mjd4277 Thanks this.

That’s because you ran 30 on a Sunday. Wait until Monday through Friday to see the difference.;)
I used to live right off of 30 at the Summer Wood apartment complex in Merrillville and that highway was/is bustling with traffic from the Illinois state line to Ft. Wayne.

Almost sounds like they’re taking a play out of the Rhode Island playbook on “fast tracking” tolls.
The ITR is about 20 years behind the times and save for upgrading a few service areas(with others still closed for quite some time) and patching the road in spots the money that’s supposed to go toward that highway’s maintenance hasn’t been well spent.

When I’m out on the road I rarely even see the north east, let alone the Indiana & OH toll roads, unless I’m going home. A lot of times depending on the dispatcher I’ll be routed along 80 or 30. Indiana roads just plain suck, period.

What are they doing on US 20 east of IN 5 (Shipshewana)?

Decided to run up to Howe, IN and take the toll road to OH. Going west, they ran it to US 6 and then back north a few months ago.

    So wait a second here...........
1n 1992, it was $12.80 to cross 157 mile Indiana..
    26 years later its $118??

I Get Inflation and politics and what not- I Could even see it just double ($25bucks or something) But over $100 in 26 years isn't inflation to go with the times- That's outright Wrong and Theivery-

Sure,Pass the Buck onto the Customer Right? That don't solve anything- But giving in.

Fight back by NOT operating on the road- Simple as that- Its Crumbled from Elkhart to the Ohio Line anyway

Makes me sick how society, governments and big corporations enjoy "Extracting" unrealistic monies from the hardworking...

Kinda understand Why Nobody wants to Work anymore-

Been wondering that myself. Seeing more and more roundabouts in Indiana, maybe that's what's being done?
