Input on the truck pls

I passed on a small fleet because they were all gliders made by fitz. When reviewing the records of the trucks, they had some really really odd things go wrong with them and the owner who was trying to get out of the mess slipped and said these were a mistake.

The bank sold the trucks for pennies on the dollar, the guy who bought them rebuilt every engine the right way.

I've also heard it from others who had nothing but nightmares with fitz built trucks with detroits.

 

Wonder who rebuilt it, must be a fitz to make it l200k and need another rebuild, maybe it was rebuilt right the second time around

 

Very few of the 99 to 03 still around. At least in drivable condition.

 

I must hammer a fist on the table and make noise about engines. If those Detriots or whatever is our'un why in hell are we using Chinese knockoff parts to rebuild them? Ive rebuilt engines in my early years and we used good honest american parts. No trouble at all. (More or less)

Everyone is trying to do something sloppy spending a dime on cheap parts to rebuild engines. Then wonder why they get a bad name when the things burn up very rapidly. They must do it right with factory parts. If those are made here in the USA then spend a dollar and do it right.

I am working through a old book from the 40's about wasp Major engines and similar in family for B29's and the hand crafting and machining skills that went into these things at any expense for wartime was awesome.

Imagine the engines we can build now if we applied that old school work properly. I would hate for our Country to just consider a disposible engine that wont give you a few million miles. Come on now.

 

I’ve seen several in the last couple months that at least have a new paint job.

 

The seller is trying to get you to pay for the rebuild. A 386 with 525K miles on it, is going from $44k to $55K on Truck Paper. 386's with around 300k original miles are in the $70k range.

 

Why was the first motor replaced at @200k miles? Is it a saltwater flood truck? A rebuilt wreck? The first owner beat the #### out of it?

75k seems a lot for a 2014. However, it is possible that it is a good truck.

Asking us to give you useful information about a truck is dangerous.

The situation you are finding yourself in is the reason why I bought the truck I drove for 250k miles. I know the last couple years of repair history and truck performance.
