Hoping you experienced guys can help. I’m want to install a drive axel air gauge so I don’t have to drive to the Cat scale anymore. I understand the theory behind using it, BUT would it be more accurate to install a drive axle air gauge AND a trailer axle air gauge?
Reason is I’m worried about getting overloaded by shippers. Thanks for any insight.

    Home - Right Weigh

I’ve got air gauges on all trucks and trailers.
Some vary on the gauges, until you figure them out.
One trailer is 72 lb on gauge, one 62 for instance.
But i can load them and be right by 80k
One has digital, others are just gushed, I like the gauges better.

Also have installed Right Weigh gauges on both. I set my trailer almost a year ago and checked it Friday. Still dead on 20230521_181300.jpg 20230521_181409.jpg 20230521_181418.jpg

I know Marten uses them. Call them. I didnt entirely trust them but they were pretty close to accurate.

Having air pressure gauges on truck and trailer is never a bad idea.
I've loaded thousands of loads of grain in a hopper using only air pressure gauge on trailer and been pretty darn accurate

Yeah see that’s what I want to do. Just use an air gauge from Harbor Freight/where ever and a T-fitting. Put 1 on trailer axle, 1 on drive axle for better accuracy. Right weight on 2 axles is too expensive, since I run dry van.

If ya wanna get fancy, run a 3rd airline for the trailer suspension back to the truck so you don't have to leave the cab.

Shouldn't need a gauge on each axle if they're all plumbed from one common levelling valve. Pressure will be the same in each bag.

I have Right Weigh on truck and trailer. I was told the best is an oil filled gauge.
My air lines for the scales are T's fitted off the air bag farthest from the leveling valve.
    Good luck.

    That’s a great idea!
