A GOOD broker will have started negotiations months before renewal and WILL have a few other choices in their pocket "just in case" for every policy renewal.
They do all the leg work and should lend a hand in some of the scut work through the year.
Double when facing impending cancellation like post-fatality, you know it's gonna happen and he will shop a bunch of companies knowing it's going sky high but should find someone you can afford..
Mine was on the line as I begged AIG's call center script reader to stop and get me a catastrophic loss team as this was a fatality and jumped to call one of their underwriters as the 'script questions droned on.....the only way to initiate a claim, any claim, was to follow that #### script!
Kudos to him I ended up with a AIG supplied lawyer on the phone within an hour.

I spoke to Great West and they said the agent/broker I was using had already requested a quote and that I couldnt receive another one. I haven't heard from this guy in over a month. No returned phone calls or emails or anything, so I know nothing about any quotes he may have received. I did get a quote from Northland and it came in almost $3000 cheaper than progressive(My current insurance). I learned of my progressive rate when I received the bill in the mail about 3 weeks ago.
Northland is roughly $3k cheaper and ive upped my coverage to $250k for cargo. -
Goodman and Baker outta Springfield Mo. I hate to post her info but I’d be glad to PM you my agents info. I’ll look office number up and edit it in. They offer several options to include Great west. I’m with Northland and been through a helluva deal. I have absolutely 0 bad to say about northland. money isn’t everything. I can say Ms. Brenda may be 7 or 8 pm following up with you that day to make sure you got what you needed as she says. (New certificates changes etc).
6607475156 is the Springfield office they have one in Tulsa as wellcke, Siinman and Old_n_gray Thank this. -

The renewal quotes from reputable insurance carriers Progressive, Northland, Great West, Occidental etc. are ready at least 30 days before the renewal date. Some agents purposefully play the delay game to leave a client not much time to find a better deal. That's unethical practice.
Siinman, Accidental Trucker and Diesel Dave Thank this. -
Another one I've heard about quite a lot was with Progressive premiums going up unexpectedly during the term. Per my agent conversation it happens when unethical agents present untrue entries to the underwriters, for example, instead of "trucking", they say "construction" as nature of business, and as a result receive a very attractive proposal quote, which after verification, makes the premium go exorbitantly high. The problem is that the initial process to get quotes is done over the phone, and then, when the actual applications papers are signed, often electronically, they're rarely read by the applicants.

My guy won’t quote progressive if you haul flatbed. Says they never pay flatbed claims and causes real $$$$$ problems for the holder.
