I found out about this several months ago and it's finally public info.
Looks interesting and not spendy at all:

..you almost wonder why no one ever thought of this before.
They are made in Canada and quality items. I hope to have a pair soon to evaluate.

In addition to this thing

With DVR this thing lets you see who tried to steal gas -
I was thinking of getting straight up locking caps. If the guy is brazen enough to take off the cap to siphon fuel then discovers he can't, he may be evil enough to put other products in there that will cost way more than a tank of fuel to fix.
-
The people that make these anti-siphon units also make locking fuel caps which are very hard to defeat but around $250 a pair.
I think a combination of both is the best approach......maybe...scottied67 and The Challenger Thank this. -
I have had locking caps before and I don't think they provide enough value, but they do increase the PITA factor... especially when running in very cold regions.bullhaulerswife and scottied67 Thank this. -
In Europe they make a hole in your tank if they can't get through filler neck. That's the reason I don't use those antisiphon devices. I have 2 options, lose fuel or lose fuel and get a broken tank.
scottied67 Thanks this. -
can you be more specific in which conturys ? -
on some old trucks there were plugs on tank bottoms to drain water))) LOL

We use much more sophisticated anti-siphon fittings here in Southern Africa.
We had those spiral ones back in the early 80's.They are easily beaten by 3 or 4 medical size tubes connected to an electrical transfer pump. The ones we have have multiple holes of about 1/8" then another sleeve with the same holes but off set.You cant even feed a thin tube through it.
In certain country's they weld a inch long spike on to a jack. They then place this under the diesel tank and jack the spike in to the tank.Remove the jack then drain the diesel.scottied67 Thanks this. -
I was concerned abut the spirals being beaten as you mentioned....but the vendor claims this isnt possible. I really want to get a set of these to try..scottied67 and The Challenger Thank this.
