Got a 60k# limit, too. Used to run into the Hole to grab rental cars, so I'd come that way often.

Here is a video that explains and shows this type of ramp in use with an actual loaded truck.

The only problem I see with thus ramp in Garden City is that it appears (from what I can see in the video) to be to far up the hill from the flat stretch into town... I think most the idiots that have been crashing there would still go past the ramp and wind up crashing anyway.

It's actually right at the bottom of the hill just before the flat space. I have wondered how you would make it to the ramp with the sharp curves before you get there. But I guess the trucks that have crashed there before made it through the curves, so it's probably in the right place.

How much is it gonna cost and how much time is it gonna take to reset it everytime a truck uses it? What happens if it becomes needed multiple times a day or week? How long will it take before Udot says screw it and just puts some orange schnieder barrels in front of it?

That two wheel motion that driver did around the turn was epic!

Video stated 6 times in 2 years, so about every 3 months. And it doesn't cost the state a thing, they will bill the insurance company to 'reset' the system.

Probably faster than recovering a truck from a gravel pit style ramp... Ive seen trucks sit in the gravel for as long as a week before. This style would greatly speed the recovery process I think.

Yep, pickup with a gooseneck flatbed hauling house logs somehow went all the way through to the end. I have to imagine there was a serious S*** storm over that failure. Quite a bit going into getting it back operational they must have found out what failed, they've been hammering out and re pouring what looks like the system's anchoring points in the wall. I'm pretty sure they plan on a full scale real test of it once repairs are completed.

If a guy went through it plan on a hood and cooling pack. Better than the alternative seen enough people who don't know how to drive in mountains that wont be driving anywhere again.
