    Have a bit of a puzzle. This is my 2nd inverter (AIMS 2500 watt) that I've had for about 6 months. It was working just fine until about a week ago then nothing. It's getting power...meter is showing 14.2 volts going in, but 0.00 coming out. It just stopped. The other inverter (a 1500 watt Cobra) did the same thing. A 3rd....another 1500 Cobra works, but sounds like the ventilation fan threw a bearing or something because it's LOUD. Strange because up until now the AIMS was working fine...powered any and everything I needed; and nice and quiet to boot. I've heard possible blown fuse (which I had to open up the unit to check...there were 8 of them all intact). Customer support from AIMS is a little iffy, sent an e-mail to tech support & then called to get authorization to return for repair.....still waiting on responses. So if I do have to tinker with it myself, anyone have a theory?

    I've never had one go bad. Because it's happened to you a couple of times. I wonder what size wire you use to power it?
    I use welding cable myself. Usually 2/0.

    The mechanics in the shop did the wire up job for the truck (it IS theirs...). Not sure of the exact gage, but it's the heavier duty.As far as I kn0w, I'm the only one this has happened to. ...Maybe I'm just cursed.

    referencing above;
    If you can see where the ground wire goes to ground, and it is a connector with a loop
    over a stud and a nut, take it all apart, and add one of those wavy cut washers with all the teeth cut into it.
    Some have the teeth on inside, some only on outside, and some have both. Cuts in to make good connection.
    I had trouble when I first got my Freightliner with the main ground stud from battery to frame.
    Got tired of fiddling with it and did the above fix, then put liquid electrical tape over it.
    never touched it again.
