It surprises the heck out of me that there isn't an inverter. There are very few automatic trucks that don't have one.

its a big company and they don't necessarily assign trucks based on seniority I know a guy who was with them a couple of months then got assigned a 2019 Cascadia with fridge, inverter and apu

Koolatron are better than the Coleman units. Had 4 or 5 of the Coleman just up and quit after about 8 months of use. The koolatron is pushing 6 or so years. Keep the fan area clean of dust build up, it should do fine for a long time.

It is quite often true. You get what you pay for it. Koolatrons are more pricey, yet tend to have a greater life span. Coleman coolers are only really designed for use 2-3 times per year.

Thankyou for the heads up on Schneider not willing to put inverters in if you supply the inverter. As I am giving it serious thought about going OTR. Life is showing me a need that is making it more of a necessity.

They don’t discover it because it takes 2 seconds to unhook an inverter and the biggest reason I don’t go to terminals I get #### fixed on the road

Do what Dave does. Get a big ice chest, and put a bag of ice in it every 2 or 3 days. Will keep anything cold.

Rule #1 of picking a trucking company: Never work anywhere until you talk to current working drivers at that company. You cannot rely on web sites, recruiters, etc.
