    Hi

Tired of eating out of truck stops and want to start cooking in the truck however I am not sure of the size of inverter that are allowed in company trucks. I have heard three hundred watts but the person I asked was not to sure. Would be nice to be able to power a toaster or a coffee maker or even a small burner

    Here is a thought...

Get a job with a company who actually cares enough about their drivers to install tripacs and inverters..there are plenty

I used to work for Schneider. 300 watts. Max. Now you can cheat and hook up an 1,000 watt inverter through the battery but you'll have to disconnect it if you're at a terminal or are getting your truck worked on. You won't be able to power anything like a toaster oven. A toaster, or a hot plate those are 500 watts and up.

What do you need an inverter to cook for when you can buy a portable gas stove and make anything? Wife makes everything from chili to spaghetti on it.

I suppose you also have a gas powered fridge,tv,microwave..

Wait until your gas powered stove blows up in your truck..

Fridge is 12v and has worked wonders for over a year now, I watch direct tv that I pay for at home through my phone or pc, and buying a microwave would be the biggest waste of money I could think of. And it's a portable stove top burner since you obviously didn't understand. Definitely not going to blow up anytime soon ;)

Because company policy that a driver agrees to abide by states no such equipment is allowed.

I'm sure most company drivers don't follow those guidelines as to what you can and can not have in the truck. As long as you are being safe about what ever it may be, no one is going to probably care.
