Motion suggests I-70 truck crash suspect needs new counsel after lawyer arrested
Jeffco DA seeks temporary counsel to advise I-70 truck driver because of defense attorney’s legal troubles
Apparently this guy's lawyer is just straight up crazy -- so crazy that the prosecutors have filed a motion telling the court that he should have a different lawyer.
"Corry was arrested Sept. 27 for allegedly driving under the influence. In July, he was arrested after witnesses reported that he was waving a sword around and threatening people during an incident near 816 N. Acoma St. In June, he was arrested after Denver police responded to a report of a kidnapping at Denver International Airport."
"Corry has not downloaded available discovery documents provided by the district attorney’s office since July 8, 2019, suggesting Corry hasn’t been doing his homework to prepare for the case in three months."
I don't think I'd want this guy to fight an improper lane change ticket for me, let alone four counts of vehicular homicide.
But of course, the lawyer thinks he's fine: "Corry made it clear at court Thursday morning he plans to fight any suggestion he can’t adequately defend Aguilera-Mederos."
I hope they get him a new lawyer. I don't want them to waste a bunch of my tax money paying for the inevitable appeal that he had inadequate representation if they convict him.

As we know from experience, in any profession, there are those at the top, middle, and of course bottom. Somebody had to graduate dead last in his class at law school, I guess this guy did.
Maybe this will come out like one of my all time favorite films, "The Verdict" with Paul Newman. But I doubt it.

Driver pleaded not guilty yesterday. Trial set for May 1, 2020. He's still free on bond, allowed to stay in Texas. Pretty nice treatment after killing 4 people, injuring a dozen more, and wrecking 28 vehicles.
