Is 2-3 days off for every 3-4 weeks out the standard for OTR Megas?

PAM tried that with me although it may have just been the dispatcher. I logged off-duty at 0056 eastern time once for hometime, 2356 central time, and he tried to tell me that counted as a day off then tried to get me to come back at 0300 two days later. He thought I had 3 days off, I thought it was 1 day off. We had words about it.

A few weeks later I moved to a different dispatch group and those guys were cool, never had a problem with them.

I never count the day I arrive home as part of my hometime. If I am taking 10 days off.....I am taking 10 days off. Arrive home on the 1st in the morning......the 2nd begins my days off. Arrive in the Evening.....the 3rd begins my day off. Nobody has ever questioned it. Always arrive back at the terminal on the afternoon of my last day off. Load up my truck. Sleep there overnight and roll out at O Dark Thirty the next morning.

You should pull tanks. You can be home daily, weekly, monthly….whatever you want. I work Monday through Friday. Occasionally I’ll get in Saturday if I goto the Northeast or Southwest. Four or five consecutive nights out is my limit.
