    Gross

Unless it’s a permit load, then your good.

Once I picked up a van load north of Fargo, listed on the BOL at 26k. I figured it was balanced OK but it did seem to handle funny so I was starting to ponder weighing at the fuel stop I had dialed in across the state line. Yeah, the Minnesota state line. And the scalehouse was open.

I had to do a doubletake at the readouts showing my drives at 36k. Turned out the BOL was fraud and the actual cargo weight was 40k. I was able to balance on the spot in a single shot but still got cited and inspected, although the officer's mood did soften a bit after I showed him the scandalous BOL.

Had a friend of mine whose young wife worked at Victoria’s Secret who was not allowed out of the back areas during business hours because she was 280lbs.

    “But Six, she’s 5’11! She’s curvy!”

It should show on your MVR as a vehicle inspection that you passed. I have several and they have all showed as a inspection that I passed, at the times involved I also worked for a company that paid them

I'm not entirely sure I believe that... I would like to see some proof that you would be jailed for being over gross at a DOT scale.
Next you'll be telling me they will haul you in for spitting on the sidewalk...

    Fortunately MD doesn’t do that.

I’ve gotten 2 overweight tickets for well north of six figures, and both were to the tune of around $7000. Neither showed up on any background checks that I know of.

The owner of the outfit I did heavy haul for had to go to Greencastle PA one day with $5000 to bail someone out for trying to sneak through town with a permit load after curfew.

I'm not trying to discredit anyone, but it seems far fetched to me that a driver would be considered a big enough threat to be jailed just because he or she didn't have a piece of paper permitting the excess weight.

    TokyoJoe and jamespmack Thank this.
