Ya know they say I never got into any kind of trouble did not dig back too far in my life. Those stories will never make the net and frankly I hurt some people long ago. Even today I feel badly about that. I don't worry about the minor things like background checks and so on. It's clean. The one thing they wont do however is issue a security clearance because of one particular job that required it because at that time there was debt levels in the late 90's Debt exposes the cleared worker to penetration by those who wish to access that worker's classified stuff. As it was explained to me. If I wanted to get it now I can, it will take a while. But I have no use for that kind of stuff so.. my life is relatively quiet.

It is a blessing because you can go to apply to anything on the planet and not stress about being able to pass a check, however strict it is.

That's cause once your in the SW your getting a lot closer to REAL Mexican food then the Americanized version of it. Can't speak for folks up in Phoenix, but I know in Tucson...best #### Mexican food I ever had outside of Mexico. Fresh made tortillas, beans, the whole nine. Stay away from the chains, an find a good mom an pop Mexican restaurant an enjoy.

Taco bell...bleh. Sadly that's all most Americans know as Mexican food. Sad, sad.

Sirscrapntruckalot - Taco Hell is bleh!

There was a spot in Texas that did mexican the way it should be done. It made Taco Bell look like a mockery.

We once loaded Salsa to Phoenix out of Landover-Jessup area and they tossed a case into our tractor gratis. That was a load to remember. It is unfortunate that we have been unable to locate that shipper and source another case or two.

I went to the DMV, took the test. Got printed, back ground check and good to go. It took a couple weeks both times. But the renewal was only about 35. Wisconsin is fairly cheap about license renewals. Though, since I already had a TSA number (required for transport of air freight), it might have been faster.

Well that's funny. I had to get the backround check done through TSA, and when found free of any felonies, (30 days) then, and only then, could I go to the DMV and renew my license. And keep the Endorsement.
I've only had a Hazmat Endorsement for like 20 years or so. A TWIC for the past 5 years. And Hauled US. Mail which also requires a backround check and fingerprinting..
It would appear, to me, that it's more about generating revenue. Then vetting the would be felons.
Yeah, I'd say Wisconsin, is considerably more lenient, certainly cheaper as well.
    Well, anyway, I got it

The Air Force quit accepting TWIC cards. I was told they found too much corruption in the program!
I don’t know about the other services? I know when I go on NAS Pensacola I only show my drivers license.

Be sure to comply with the Real ID act of 2020, if you have a Gold Star on your license near the center top you should be good to go with that new enhanced license.

Those still not complying with ordinary licenses will not be allowed to enter federal buildings, enter military bases etc and board domestic flights.

Swift tried to do the same thing and make Haz-mat required for there employees for the exact same reason. Only thing, they couldn't get enough people to fill up an orientation, so they dropped the requirement just right after they instated it.
