Empty Miles 26301.70 miles
22 YTD miles
I don’t remember exactly, that notebook is at home, I’m thinking 195-198 days out, for me, as I’m the driver too.
$290,158.58 Gross
Total Expenses $247,515.11
Profit / (Loss) $42,643.47
That’s now that I’ve updated expenses with 2290 @$1100 for me with two trucks and one as a spare, that i ran miles on when one was down.
But, most won’t make $300k/year.
Gotta be a stepper.

Now if you want to figure cost per mike, take expenses and divide by mikes.
That’ll be all expenses for me, which everybody will have different cost per mile.
I won’t start my truck for less that $3, although I’m bringing a load that is 2.93/mile back to Memphis, but truck is going to go to shop and it runs me by the house to do so, and not taking money from my pocket to get back home.TRUCKER101ROOKIE, D.Tibbitt and LameMule Thank this. -
There is guys out here that have been at it for 10+ 20+ 30+ years that are really struggling on the spot market now.. What makes you think you can come in brand new and navigate the market and make more money than them..? I dont know anybody doing well on the spot market right now... You would be the first person i hear of...
Would you open a returant with no experience of how to cook?
Would you open a repair shop with no experience of how to turn wrenches ?
Getting off the ground is the hardest part. If you have no experience in the actual job itself how do you expect to get it off the ground? If your answer is to hire someone else that knows how to do it. You are going to need 100k in the bank at all times to deal with the nonstop ######## that gets thrown in ur face as a truck owner. Especially if you plan to start a fleet and hire a driver, only to run off the spot market...
I dont think you understand, the average spot market rate right now is about 1.60 a mile for dryvan.. At 100k miles fuel is .75 and rising higher. Driver pay .60 a mile. Insurance .25 a mile.. Repairs and maintence .25 a mile... Those are just the basic expenses for every company ... And include that your equipment is already fully paid off . there is much more expenses depending what you are doing... Please do the math on that and tell me how you are going to succeed.Crude Truckin', God prefers Diesels, Short Fuse EOD and 3 others Thank this. -
