There seems to be a crap load of former elite military in trucking. Lots of high mileage drivers as well. I had one driver tell me he runs 4k per week on e logs and is home every weekend for at least 48 hours.
Is it possible to make close to 70k gross in 1st yr solo with swift?

Maybe. I have heard that a first year driver at Swift in one of their lightweight trucks can get 52cpm.
At 49 cpm, starting as a driver with 1 year experience, I have driven 105,000 miles since mid March for Shaffer. Around 100k of those miles were paid miles. I'll let you do the math. -
So 9.5 months, 11,000 miles per Month, 2700 miles per week avg? On Elog. That's impressive. 65mph truck? Aren't you paid all miles dispatched?

Swift nnooooway

The first few months were in a 62 MPH truck.
Shaffer is paid practical miles, which aren't always practical. Detours, washouts, off duty driving add up.
I also spent last month trying out chasing my 70. It was terrible. I was about 3000 miles short in about 5 weeks out. I'm back to pushing hard again. After Xmas.Lepton1 and Oldironfan Thank this. -

Sorry but what do you mean by chasing your 70?
-
Rolling hours I think.

So running recaps?

Who uses recaps only new virgin tires on what I drive?Lepton1 Thanks this.
