    Low miles
forced to take short runs with way too much time on them every time now
harassed about idol when I have to sleep and it's 100 degrees in my truck
Always having to take short run to get a decent run
    So on and so on

Anyone know who I contact about switching terminals before I quit? Has to be someone outside my terminal because they all seem to be the same. More about their goals than the safety of their drivers in the heat

Also who do I contact in Phoenix to let them know some of the stuff that has been said to me like someone telling me to take my break in the truckstop.

To change terminals, you need to first pick the terminal you want to call home. At that terminal, get in touch with a DM or FM and have them request a change for you. The request from them will be from terminal manager to terminal manager, then the accepting terminal will assign you to the new DM....the down side...you might have to change trucks!

Thanks I edited my post because really I am way to pissed and got to watch what I say. Would love to say what is going on here but will wait until I go to another company.

Not too worried about losing the truck as I will have a new one here shortly. Anyone run out of Laredo can tell me how the terminal is. Really thinking about Laredo.

Youre thinking about leaving or have you already left? I'd try switching dms first. You really seem to get a lot of heat about idling.

    LOL no pun intended

I do now but winter time I never got harassed at all. Why because they have a bunk heater. I am not going to get up every 15 minutes during the night to start my truck up like some poor Swift driver the other night.

I was up all night and the poor guy could not have gotten more than an hour of sleep. I drive 600 miles I am tired and when it is 90 degrees still at midnight I will keep the truck running.

I tried to get it cool but 10 minutes later it's hot as heck. That don't work!!! You cannot get the required rest starting the truck up every 10 minutes so yes I am over their lousy 32% or whatever they feel like changing it to.

I have fans but they don't work when it's hot outside and muggy as hell. The bottom line here is if they don't want you to idol then they should have APU's or something else in the trucks. Again I only idol when it's hot and I have to sleep.

I still work for Swift and I almost left two weeks ago but put it off hoping things would change. But nothing has changed and the problems seem to keep coming. This was after my DM said I will get you more miles after I told her I can't afford to work here unless I make money. Then when she insinuated I could just take my break in the truck stop that way I don't have to idol that just blew me away.I guess she just thinks I can get a cozy nights rest in the drivers lounge.

Blue, call human resources in Phoenix. The whole country knows how hot it has been lately. Your DM has lost her mind.

Yea I thought she lost her mind! She makes me feel so guilty for wanting to be comfortable when I sleep. Do they get bonus when they meet their goals like idol and so on? If so I want some of her money it belongs to me as well.

Actually next time I'm at the terminal I am gonna disengage the AC and make her sweat!!!

Invite her to sleep in your truck one night and you in the motel.

Take the key with you so she cannot idle.

Blue, they were going to write me up last May for over idle in April 2010. I said ok, but to save you time and effort, just write it for May, June, July, August, September, and at least the first 2 weeks of October, because I can't sleep in a pool of sweat, so I will continue to idle when I try to sleep. They never wrote me up.

It is not allowed to sleep in the driver's lounge at Denver East TA. Soon it will be like that at all truck stops. To me this DM is offering an invalid solution. A good counterpoint to her suggestion would be for Swift to pay for a hotel room for you. Of course they're not going to do that just as you're not going to sleep in the lounge. Sounds like they've gotten a lot stricter with the idling since just last summer....
