It’s not an OTR position, he’s local and they’re basically footing the bill for his commute. This wouldn’t even be a discussion if he was driving his own vehicle back and forth to their yard. The OP hasn’t been around for days which means he didn’t get the answers he was hoping for.

I’ve generally found these one post wonders come here mostly to seek out others that will agree with or otherwise help them rationalize their thinking.

You can ROFL all you want, but you are not being screwed. It’s just your attitude of entitlement that’s making you think so. You and X1 should team, you’re perfect for each other.

I would never expect a company to pay for my commute to work. You are lucky that they allow you to drive they’re truck to and from work on they’re dime.

Right. And lucky they "Give" me a 50 cent after giving me a tax burden from a dollar. And give and give.

No. Companies do not give *&^%. You earn it. It's economics. You have a egg this morning you did not consume with your family. You know you will have more tomorrow morning. So you sell this egg at the noon market. The money you earned from this, part goes to the feeding of chickens beyond what they consume to provide you this egg.

Your two sentences indicate to me that maybe there can be a adjustment in the economics. Again a company does not give *&^%. to be blunt. You have a job as a professional driver to take that 18 wheeler loaded to 40 ton of whatever is in it from A to B. Your company PAYS you a certain amount from your work in that truck that they own.

If you think you can do this better than they can, go ahead. Buy a 18 wheeler and get all the licensing, permits and so on from the state. Insurance too. You will find that the State and Federal Government does not give you *&^% to run that truck for hire to a farm and get a load of eggs going to grand Union in Albany NY tomorrow morning before sunrise 3 states over. Get going yer late. The Farm does not give you *&^% either. You better be on time with that trailer.

Should I take the lucky we should be having something from a company that gave me *&^% to do this job? First of all if it was truly *&&^% I would not be here after day one of trying to do this job for Mr Lucky Express INC.

You cannot expect 340,000,000 people to be given *&^% and consider themselves lucky for this and that. No. Our freedoms, our Economics, our way of life and so forth is bought and paid for in sweat, blood and tears. We are #### lucky to have created trucking back in world war one and carried it on home to make a living doing this thing. The next time you see a Piano in a 1870's era saloon near say Dodge City, you should consider what it took to mule or oxen it 2000 miles from the east coast. #### near a year excluding maybe one winter to wait out until spring.

They were #### lucky to have that Piano in 1870. And they stay around long enough to build a trucking company to have a job for you when you got old enough and have ideas you wanna drive a big truck.

Most people in the USA do not have ideas to drive a bigtruck this morning when they wake up. So we are #### lucky to be truck drivers.
