I use T-Mobile and never used Verizon. I do get a kick on reading reviews on Trucker Path and the huge amount of comments that so and so stop has terrible Verizon reception. Those comments are all over the US.
Is T-Mobile ok for OTR?

This comment about T-Mobile is a bit outside the topic of the thread. I went out to dinner last night with a friend and we discussed T-Mobile's internet data. He said his daughter went with their home 5G internet hotspot plan. She does not live in an area where she can get cable and because she and her husband have cell phones there is no need to get home service for DSL. According to him, the phone carrier does not offer FIOS where she lives. T-Mobile does maintain a tower close by. They hate the service they are getting but are stuck in a contract. I think they are planning to move back to Hampton Roads in 2025, but for now are not happy with T-Mobile. I will also add I am yet to hear anything positive about this home service.

our friend has the t-mobile home internet and she told us it's only good for one pc and one streaming device anything after that she said forgret it. it will be slow not connect get bumped off. and i think they just cut off the roaming feature so it can't go anywhere now like it used to for travelers

TMobile home still works in the truck fine. Tested at a few hundred rest stops from mid west to east coast including upper ny and pa. (Would NEVER use this for home personally)
Im using it now. They paused the geo lock bs.
I use it to game, streaming from my PC at home that has a 4090 in it. (With an nvidia shield in truck using moonlight, no reason to bring a pc)
>>>> At truck stops<<<< its not possible usually, but in rest areas, I can always get the bandwith to do it. 300-800 down. Sometimes I have to downgrade the stream to 1080/30, sometimes I can roll 4k / 60. So ya I usually take my overnights at rest stops lol. I need my gaming.
Latency can be a ##### so I wouldnt use it for PVP games. But for SP / Coop games its great.
Me (in truck) and the wife (at home) have been getting down on Granblue Relink and Soulmask this month just fine with moonlight streaming. Minimal issues unless at a truck stop.
If you game stream to the home PC the only issue youll have is port forwarding. Cant do it on tmobile, so you just use NordVPN on both devices then enable MeshNet and youre good to goLast edited: Jun 25, 2024

Late to the party and probably beating a deadhorse, but my Verizon jetpack hotspot device has quite literally NEVER let me down. Probably a little better reception than a typical phone, but it is good enough for online gaming and live TV streaming in 90% of places. Good for browsing, etc., in 100% of places.
My phone is ATT and it's good 98% of the time. It just occasionally has weird dead zones where you'll have 3 bars or so and not actually have anything work. It's been like that at my parent's house for years. Very rare though. I got grandfathered into a really good plan, but I use my hotspot on it occasionally too and it's subpar compared to Verizon, but still adequate.
I understand money doesn't grow on trees, but the combo is well worth every penny to me. Hard to deny Verizon's coverage. Not just coverage, but quality, high speed coverage. I sound like a recruiter, so just know you're part of a family at Verizon -
Trash mobile was so bad a few years ago with us they unlocked our phones that were under contact. We said never again!!!

I have Verizon and have been with them since they were GTE wireless. Haven’t had a problem with service in years except that stupid Petro in carnesville I think it is GA. Across from the J which hasn’t had a restaurant for 20 years. Maybe service is better now. Haven’t been back in 5 or so. Plus they have never throttled my data or said anything. I stream and download whatever I want and have for years. Also have an iPad with them. Same deal. 130gb isn’t uncommon. Unlimited to me means UNLIMITED. No 5G. Won’t ever use it. I don’t trust a signal that goes through my DNA instead of around it like 4G. I’ve used 3.35Tb so far on this phone. No idea what the iPad is at.
I’m mainly Verizon because despite T mobile and their claims to be the biggest and best they suck where I live. Same with AT&T. So how good can they be really? Plus I am not a hop around get a deal here then go there guy.
