Of course there is, they have it hooked up to a mini computer that sends them data to the monitoring group at the company and at the DOT so when you are singing to your best song or negotiating with a lot lizard, they are listening in to see if you are any good at either one of those to promote you.

I don't really care if they record me or not, worst case scenario is they tell me not to quit my day job as I have no future with singing. If I draw enough attention to myself where the company pays someone to listen to my every word they won't hear much, maybe learn some words that are not in the dictionary, and hear some words that may require an interpreter as they are not in the Rosetta Stone Course Materials. Out of the thousands of drivers the megas employ, I would imagine listening in on your conversation is not a priority. They have better ways to waste money.

The Swift cam obviously has a microphone. I'm talking about a smaller company that doesn't disclose this information.

I heard some driver saying theres a audio/video recording feature on the mcp50 Qualcomm. I think he's crazy but he seems certain there is.

So my question is do they have to disclose this information in orientation or can just go ahead and record all information?

Our drive cams record audio. I self activated mine with the button, when Celedon was slowly taking my mirror off with his trailer, and when they played it back you could hear everything, including me going " You stupid F moron."

My cousin has some type of QC, RM, or whatever communicator with a built in drive cam. Don't know about audio on that one.

And it records every second your in the truck. Even if it is not activated the company can get video from anytime period from the drive cam people.

Privacy ended long, long, ago bud. Unless you want to go full Kazynski.

I have a dash cam and I do not record audio. Because often there is a Taylor Swift song playing on the morning radio show that I listen to. I guess worse than that would be Nick Jonas...
