Is it really legal for these "lease purchase" companies to only give you enough miles to cover the truck payments, insurance, and fuel purchased?
In the last 4 weeks I have made a whopping $194 take home, because I've been getting less than 2000 miles/week, usually leaving me in a $300-400 hole every week. Have had to rely on paycheck advances to pay what little bills I have, buy food and supplies, etc.
Now they're refusing to grant my advance requests because I've had so many negative settlements. Seriously?
Someone please tell me this bs is illegal and not the industry norm.

    Thanks

    Voodoo Pyg Thanks this.

What's illegal? That sounds perfectly normal for many L/P companies. After all, they have to look out for their investment first. You, my friend, and your money woes, are secondary.
That's the problem with doing a lease with the same company that dispatches you. They hold ALL the cards.

    Carry on!

    Yes it's legal.

Now, it's time for you to put on your big boy panties, be a businessman, and put a stop to it. Tell the company to give you the miles or you are gone. If they don't increase your miles, terminate the contract and hit the bricks.

    Simple as that.

You must be new. Everybody here know what leasing really mean. There's a search button on top, grab some coffee and enjoy

Heck even if you pay direct to a bank you still might have weeks of low miles no freight
    What about break downs..
Let me guess no spare money to open a business
But I'm going to get me a trk
    Well thought out huh

YOU are running your own business. YOU have to be business minded.

I know what I am talking about. My guy has finished about 10 trucks solo; this is our 3rd truck together.
The only reason we do so good is, because he has been with the same company for a stone age AND he's business minded. That also means, sometimes you gotta do some buttkickn to get your miles or a new FM or both.

What's your business plan ... not the part that says if you get x miles, you will make y dollars ... the part of your plan that details how you were to actually get those miles.
