well the o/p claims he "heard" of Africans and homeless being hired. I wanted to read it for myself. apparently, he heard that from the truck stop counter..??? you know, where all the specialist's in trucking hang out..??

Those drivers weren't homeless when they were hired by Prime...but after all of Prime's back charges and fee's, they couldn't pay their payments. Prime has a name for those drivers, solo lease operators...

 

Not just Africa, but everywhere in between, dot laws say you have to read and write in English ,but so far not too many I've ran across do!

 

This sounds farfetched to say the least.

 

There really isn't any way that any man or woman with deficient reading or writing skills could function effectively as a truck driver. There are a LOT of instructions, manuals, billing packets, inventory sheets, etc. that the individual truck driver must be able to read and comprehend.

Naturally, this would be in addition to being a good driver.
