Wages don't have to increase. The drivers with other options will change to the better companies and the companies that hire thousands of drivers every year will just keep hiring thousands of drivers every year. Some companies prefer to spend WHATEVER it takes to keep hiring "drivers" that will work for $500/week than to pay more than $500/week. It's not the company's job to make their drivers happy. It's the driver's job to not work for companies that treat drivers like litter.

The National Hot Dog and Sausage Council tells us it was the 1940s when hot dog manufacturers settled on 10 dogs to a pack. Independently, bakers were creating buns in pans designed to hold eight. Those pans now come in different sizes, but the eight-bun pan is still the most popular.

That's why you always end up eating a couple of the hot dogs just folded up in a regular slice of bread.

Reading through these posts all I can say is,wow!
Sounds like some of you might want to to skip a few meals and make a appointment to see your cardiologist!!
Hotdogs? What 3 meals a day?
I’m glad I’ve been out here long enough to know where all the hole in the wall Mexican joints and old Chevy’s selling homemade tamales and burritos out of the trunks for a buck or two!:D
Or the Ruth Chris steak houses that have truck parking nearby :)

A rotisserie chicken will last 4 days in your cooler. It can be mixed with soups/salads etc.

That's just my point. Wages will be so low comparatively nobody will enter the industry. If your thinking a long line of wanna be drivers ready to come on board, that's old thinking.

Megas and bottom feeders will be folding left and right. Major turning point. Wait til truckstop hotdogs are 2 for $10 and fuel is $15/gal

    I agree ..
Wait till their sitting at a truck stop 3 or 4 days buying those 10.00 hot dogs because they don't have any money.. and the company they are either leased too or drive for don't have a load for them.because there is no freight moving..
Then it finally dawns on them they spent 150.00 sitting there and only got paid 500.00 for the whole week and they have a 800. Electric bill waiting.on them at home and their spouse went to the grocery store to just get enough basic things to get by untill the next paycheck and it cost 430.00 for 3 plastic bags of cheap food

In November of 2020, when I quit Knight Refrigerated out of Phoenix I was making 44 cents per mile. With the current inflation, I figure an OTR driver needs to be making 60 CPM to even be bothered with it at this point.

No, the megas will just complain to their Senator and 30,000 "refugees" from somewhere will get visas to drive trucks in the USA for the $500.
