We used to run a lot van which was a tiny (Relatively) Ford Windstar (What is in a name...) anyhow.. that van had a rule. Whatever was said inside that thing "Stayed in it"

I started off riding that thing, early bottom man on totem pole. Listened to three hundred parking lot miles daily of people trash talking each other on the internet the previous night. The birds on my feeder each morning were much more cooperative than this knife sharpening bunch.

I did experiment with social media but found that there were things to learn about family and vice versa etc. I stopped using it entirely after a couple of years. It was very useful to have social media in time of war to literally almost watch your friends get killed or worse, from the falling enemy rockets while the iron dome system intercepted them 60 feet up. I learned about it when they were allowed to come out from shelter in a few minutes at most. You don't need a newspaper when three Americans were captured in Hebron and then tortured and killed. Buried in a small part of a garden anonymously. Finally the very flowers and vegetation above the bodies began to be "Off" to certain people who pay attention to details and presto. There they were. Hebron is a very dangerous place. Far in excess of any American City. The terrorist and his family had the treat of very large C4 blocks slapped on the 4 walls of his home and blown up. The land was then scraped clean with two D9s for bombs etc. Then turned over to those who have a need of it.

Anyway that's the power of social media. You. Are. There.

I once followed a storm chaser into my area (County) and had found a tornado they were following on line near US 67 mimicing exactly a Wizard of Oz tornado in the original 1930's movie more or less a stove pipe at F3. It was passing by about a mile from home. I could have looked out the window and there it was. But no I used technology and social media to follow the thing into searcy. There is a whole lot of stuff up there along with 30,000 people living and working there.

Social media. You love it or hate it. If I have to like anything at all about it, I concede one particular point. Google Live Map of a combat area. When something happens in a map, near real time someone on social media will post a video etc. I watched our tomahawk missiles fall onto a Sryian airbase wrecking the place via a Arabic cell phone before anyone in America broadcast the fact on the television that strikes have been launched on the order of 60 some missiles. I counted 22. That's just one base. The hill was shining. Come morning, all they had to do is round up the shovel men, walk one time down the place end to end, throw the FOB etc into the back of the pickups so the jets can come and go on the runway without fear of losing the engines. By dinner the next evening, the base was back up and running.

A note to the American Airforce. If you want to wreck a base like that, Tomahawks are nice, loud and powerful scary. But when it's all noise and shaking is done, the base is back in combat in a day or less. You need to have the British Tornado system using what is called Durendals. Whey they finish the one pass over at less than treetop, nothing will be useable anymore especially the runways. Not for a long while. You can still use the tommies if you like to kill the people too stupid to flee.

He’s got an autographed copy of the Bible, but the cave painting was a bit before his time. :)
