That was because the Babe always swung to knock it out of the park, as opposed to just swing to put the ball in play. A lot of hitters are like that nowadays too. Folks have this tendency to want to go for the biggest prize quickly, as opposed to movement in a positive direction and eventually getting that big prize.

the budget for attitude increases in proportion to how much liability you assume, personally i'd lease for half a company paycheck for that single reason alone, it pays out in what i get to take with me when i'm done. the more stuff breaks the smarter i get, tap dancing down the line between tedium and catastrophe. i miss being able to drone in a company saddle with my foot pushing cooperate $$$$$$ still under warranty but none of that's mine. should or should not depends on what you're doing it for, or how much attitude budget you need. attitude costs $$$$ in one way or another. if attitude is from a present constraint that u think there's a better way then i think that answers the question for you of should or should not. everyone behind a steering wheel is literally doing the same thing, the old guy laughing making six figures on 6 months of road trips and the white knuckle time bomb driving 3k miles a week for $950. if it's too hard ur doin it wrong

The company that mistreats you as a driver can easily mistreat you even more as a lease-op. The payments are less relevant that the certainty of getting sufficient freight. Imagine getting a weekly cost of $400 for truck, insurance, fees, etc but getting only 500 miles of work? ALL OF THE RISK in on the lease-op. You owe the trucking company money whether you get freight or not. Say something smart to the dispatcher and what incentive do they have to give you freight? You owe them money even if they starve you out. Don't do it. If you do it, don't complain about the company, you won't protect yourself.

Jump off a bridge often enough and eventually you will learn to fly?

“Judge… How’d you know so much about Tommy Edison?”

Us immortals remember him, he was a grouch, loner, and couldn’t get along with most anyone. Spent a lot of time in his lab.

A guy leased at Tomas Keller told me he's still getting almost 2800 a week, when they don't give his loads to the company drivers.
