I found trailer 91820; mind you a shiny new trailer; sitting sadly in the Allentown drop yard looking like this when I dropped a T-Call there. It kind of looks like someone punched the thing! I ended up with a crappy trailer with duals with newbie scrapes on it delivering my weekend load out of the house in Jersey (Barnes and Nobles) to Minnesota. Trailer 91820.jpg

    Little situation/dilemma here.....

    • I picked up a load on Saturday morning that has a delivery time of 7am Tuesday. 1186 miles.
    • I drove my full 11 today and happened to get 2 hours and 52 minutes outside my receiver; shutting down for my 2/8 split sleeper.
    • My hours dictate that I won't be able to leave until 9am Monday from Tomah, where I took my break.
    • I anticipate my ETA will most likely get there right around 12 noon or shortly thereafter.
    • I have only 1300 miles in so far for the week plus a T-Call.
    • It is a drop and hook.

What would you do to try and get these miles in this check? I'm thinking scan in early, re-scan signed bills when delivered and explain to Angie later?

    What would you do?!?!

Just scan them in as quick as possible. I've had them put trips on my check that were like an hour or two past noon. I wouldn't mess with the bills or, you could just have whoever sign it and then send everything in while still attached and then un hook.

    as for that trailer, terrible.

Got a new dispatcher today. Not the guy that is "coming in January". Told them either I'm cleaning it out and after home time that I would do 2 weeks and be done. New dispatcher is nice, called me right away we talked I think I'll have a good relationship with him. Load from York, PA to glens falls, Ny then home until January 6th. Oh yea anyone who has Carrie stone I really feel bad for you. She is really not the nicest person to even talk to. Have fun and be safe!

I was just emailed my final pay stub for the year. I'm pleased to report that I've grossed $44,320.79 for 2014. Since I'm only 25 and this is my second year with a CDL, that's a darn good salary in my eyes. Better than most of my college-edumacated friends are making lol. But enough "bragging". Left the house yesterday morning, picked up in Westampton, NJ heading for Bloomington, MN.

I am shut down for the night in Hebron, Indiana. I'd rather avoid driving on the roads tonight, since everyone except me will be drinking like the world is ending. That being said, I want to wish you all a happy & healthy 2015. Be safe out there tonight guys.

Good deal! Congrats on making decent money. Remember, the right choices and $44,000 will be a memory because you're making more! Good job and happy new year and here's to another profitable year for Ya!

Are you getting paid per deim? Anyways this last pay check they're putting on for next year lol. Anyways, my net is 35,673.95 and my gross is like 33,176.39 so don't know what's up with that figured it was like that because of the per deim not showing up on your gross.

Anyways, I'm home went down talked to this tanker company I've been pursuing. Got great news, and not only that basically to keep in touch guys are retiring at some point this year so I'll most likely be hired on. Taking my hazmat test before I leave out of the house, and then bascially the months are numbered here at schugel. Most likely May-august I'll make my decision and see what's going on. Defiantly not taking any chances because I don't want to leave schugel and have somthing fall through. Top driver makes 75,000 a year everyone else averages 60-65 and that's home every night mon-fri optional weekends if you want to make more. Chemical tanking uniforms, load pay, CPM pay, split load pay, back haul pay, 11 paid holidays, 2 weeks vacation after 1 year, day runs, night runs, paper logs, good equipment( peterbilts) 7-10 truck fleet, only thing I didn't like was slip seating but whatever. 3 miles from the house. Can't wait! Happy New Year be safe!

Well, today was about as fun as a root canal.

I was taking a nap in the sleeper while I was getting unloaded at the Twin Cities IKEA this morning, when all of a sudden... Crunch! Some knuckle dragger smashed the back of his trailer into the front of my tractor, cracked my grill & my bumper, and somehow bent the hood. Now I have to pull on the hood mirror just to get it to close properly. And let me tell you, this guy who hit me may have been the biggest lowlife I've ever met in my life. He literally tried bribing me with money to keep my mouth shut about the accident, saying over and over and over again that he would be fired if we got the insurance companies involved. A couple of the staff members at IKEA told me this guy was a major klutz. He made a delivery there a week ago, and smacked into a dropped trailer, and tore up two different guard rails. They had also mentioned he tried to do the same shady deal of offering them money under the table, and forget that he hit anything. The company this guy work for was some seedy south Florida dirtbag outfit, and the truck was so sheety, he had to use the passenger side door to get in and out of the cab. The trailer he was using was even worse, it couldn't keep any air pressure, and kept locking up the wheels. It took this guy at least an hour to back into a dock that took me under five minutes to do. I also had to fight tooth and nail to get any sort of information from him. Heck, I'll be surprised if that FL outfit pays for the $1000+ worth of damages this dude caused. It was just an awful, agonizing experience that I hope I never, ever have to deal with again. Before he left to go cause more destruction, I literally told the guy to his face that he was a disgrace to this industry, and that he does not deserve to be behind the wheel of a semi.

but anyway, enough of that rant already lol. After that fiasco, I deadheaded down to Faribault to pick up a load going to Aldi in Frederick, MD. That will put me at 2400 miles for a 6 day work week, not too shabby.
