Well that certainly sucks about the hazmat gig, but I can understand why it fell through. Your new job sounds pretty sweet though, keep up the good work pal! And enjoy all that hometime, you lucky dog.

I am currently sitting dead on the side of the road eastbound at mile marker 2 of I94 in Hudson, Wisconsin. My engine completely shut off on me while I was driving. Gotta love trucking...

Haha! Hey I guess it ain't all bad, I got a pretty nice hotel room on J&R's dime. And I could totally go for a 34. I feel like a fuel pump repair on a Sunday will take about that long... What happened to your ride?

Left my job. For a Union job local 249 out of albany for Quality Carriers. Angel called me to come back but I'm getting into tankers for reasons stated before. Here's some of the details.

Union 294 Teamsters Albany, NY Quality Carriers

    -43.6 loaded and empty

-8 hours of your 10 hour break is paid 17.63 per hour.

    - load and unload pay, fueling the truck (paid), Pretrip (paid)

    - top driver making $85,000 bottom driver making 72,000

    - $400 to the union then 48 a month or a week haven't gotten that 100%

-Baltimore training $400 for 4 days. Take personal care .51 a mile and tolls reimbursed.

    - 3,000 bonus paid first check, 30, 60 days.

    -ezpass/ prepass

-all equipment and gear provided. No uniforms.

Well it's been a while since I've posted anything here, mainly because I've lost the motivation to do so. I've decided to officially throw in the towel. Next Friday is my last day here, and frankly I couldn't be more glad.

Today I finally picked up my truck that was being fixed at the shop, only to have the driveshaft snap off 45 minutes later. Wtf.. I really just want to throw up right now...

But seriously, if you want to work for a company that pays you per diem to waste time driving around tollroads in one section of the country while being watched by a stupid drive cam, this is the company for you!

That being said though, if you want to work for a company run by decent folks, drive fairly new equipment, get paid on time every time, and turn plenty of miles every week, J&R might be worth a shot. Up until recently, I really liked the company. But now I'm ready to move on to different pastures.

Holland and Lessors hire around you. Two good companies in my opinion. Miles, equipment and APU. Good luck to you wherever you land!

Great minds think alike I suppose. Holland is my first choice, and Lessors is my second lol. I applied to Holland on Thursday. I'm going to call them Monday or Tuesday, if they don't call me first.

Deep down, I still think J&R is a good company. I'm just ready for a different change of pace. Anyone who considers this company will be making a much better choice than going to one of the mega companies. Working here was like a Hawaiian vacation compared to working for Werner.
