Jakes engaging lightly in low gears

    I had an 04 pete 379 with a twin turbo cat do that. I’d just ease through the lot, shift carefully to 2-3, cause when the engine was cold it’d engage the Jake. Even if it’d idle all night.
    When you hit the ramp, accelerate the stacks would pump white smoke, looked like a heavy fog. It’d roll off the flatbed. Even had one guy behind me on the cb ‘where’d this fog come from!!’

    company truck. They said drive it. Never used oil or antifreeze.

    Yeah I need to check this. I think this is what Wore Out was talking about, so I'm foresure gonna look for a puff or fog of white smoke. Thanks for the info.

    yeah, mine did not lose power. After about 3-5 miles it clear up.
