    axe, “how much that pay?”
they say nothing, “I’m not running a nonprofit, i’m going elsewhere.”

65% percent to owner operator seems low. But then again it depends how much Schneider is paying per mile which I assume it may not be much. The best I can find is 10%/90% to lease on which is not bad. But that rate is not a mega carrier amount freight. More like mom and pops. I have seen 12% from Chicago companies but those chicago companies are major scams as we all know.

Landstar pays the same. Basically 25% lease on and 10% for trailer, but they get work.

Those 88-90% pay carriers usually are the ones working off of load boards which right now is disastrous.

The 65% fom Landstar/Schneider is low but they got their own in house customers and leverage to get them to pay more. Is it worth the extra 25% idk.
Maybe if you can line up short drop and hook loads with high rate per mile.

One thing I don't understand is booking a load 2 thousand and greater once u arrive and look at the rate agreement all the numbers are different and turns out several hundred less example MI to Dallas 2023 day it was booked now I'm here to pick up and look at rate agreement it's 1800 but on loads less u get that rate example P.A to Michigan 650 and that's what was on the final rate agreement why is this

You ask the Dispatching and u get a long dragged out or reharrersed reason why would you book a load driving 1100 miles for 1800 when u booked it was all ready cutting it at 2023 once taking out your deductions but to have to take the dedication out of 1800 end of the day you drove 1100 miles not even a dollar a mile

My truck does not even move until I have a signed Rate Con in hand. Never.

Not sure why you are looking rate con once you arrive at a shipper.

That should all be done 1st & foremost before anything.

    Makes no sense to me.

I'm a one person running this very small operation and unfortunately I learned from when I drove for several different categories in the trucking lease Company private owners so tired and got myself so sick with all the BS I was getting any situation weather your on the giving end or receiving end won't be long the red flags will appear witch did so I started my own after being a driver driving 3000 a week being given 1500 broke down to .19 a mile am I doing any better no now I'm using all my equipment minus a trailer but my fuel all the tolls taxes and repairs while the company first waters the rates before even hits the board then driver picks it up they shave more saying it's the line hual rate then your handing 27% to them then express payment swipes .03 so there making 30% it's sad that people away from there family plus all the responsibility as a driver gets raped on top of it you providing a service you get payed they get payed talked down like your a complete dummy I only wish I could and I will get the opportunity to change and phase them out it's just now it's my first 60 days and it's paying my bills but no doubt few weeks driving times 3000 that week this industry with all the new comers changing the game with multiple means to swip as much as they can from the driver no doubt makes it possible back In the day there was a few in the bunch you hand to watch your britches around now not a one that won't hesitate to take u for as much as they can sad is at the end of the week they pocket twice what you make from you and pat you on the back and say my friend

Sounds to me like you're whining about the whole industry stacking the odds against you and conspiracies on you and your family...
There are many drivers out here who are quite satisfied with whatever gig they are working right now. Granted, it's not easy being a trucker, and there are definitely predators out there who will try to leave you high and dry, but you've got to put on your big boy pants and endeavor to persevere. The other option that's always open, is to get out all together and seek employment in another field.

Long FLD, Lonesome and D.Tibbitt Thank this.
