Ya know my sister and her husband talked up Tx quite a bit about the fact it doesn't have income tax, etc. Well they learned that the taxes come from somewhere, and for you texans its the property taxes. They pay over 1k per month on property taxes! lol And thats not for some mansion, just a 500k dollar home...
Job offer, but need to switch CDL to that state.

In Florida the lack of taxes are compensated by tourists dollars.
- Inheritance tax: None
- Personal income tax: None
- Property tax: Cannot increase by more than 3% of the previous year’s assessment or the Consumer Price Index, whichever is less

I lived in Florida (also no state income tax) for almost 15 years (loved it) and the taxes there were a lot cheaper than Texas.Speed_Drums Thanks this. -
I lived in Florida for several years and no complaints. Wish I was there now.

I love Florida. Always wanted a second home there! They have scuba diving, salt water fishing, and some of the best skydiving dropzones in the usa. All my hobbies!

Another state to consider is Alabama. Very low property taxes if you're going to buy a place. But, wasn't the subject about just where to list an address? If purchasing property isn't in the equation then TX or FL would be good choices. The idea is to increase income and decrease thievery by the government. Of course, I could be wrong since I haven't finished my first cup of coffee.

Snow Hater, i like the idea you got, but for my situation, in order to score this Ca job i need to be a california resident… so in this case i dont have a option. But yea if were talking a normal over the road job especially where maybe were driving as a nomad and dont even really have a home besides the truck, no question about it, id def try to have my cdl in a state with no income tax

Outdoort, maybe consider a different company? All the best no matter what you choose.
