Well, looks like I'll be hopping on the ol dog and riding on down to Joplin this weekend. Just passed my CDL test today. Looking forward to starting an excellent career. Been wanting to be a truck driver since I was 18.

Good Luck, they will reimburse you on your airfare if the bus isn't your thing up to the amount of the bus, I have heard that it is about the same amount if you get the airfsare in advance. Take Care.

Wow. Joplin in the middle of Tornado season... You're brave. Take plenty of dry clothes :)

I kid, I kid! Congrats on passing and good luck in orientation!

Thanks OZR, and I used to live south of Minneapolis, MN. I remember what kind of weather this season can spring, and I'm looking forward to it. :biggrin_25523:

Thanks! I'm looking forward to going. Just hope I'm not too nervous and mess up my bp for the agility test. LoL

If you didn't go to Crowder College for school be prepared for a week long "Boot Camp" there.

Good luck and let us know how things go :)

Thanks Katey, and I'll be headed to the college bright and early Monday morning for the "boot camp". I'm just going to look at it as another day at CTDTS (Charlotte Truck Driver Training School) and I don't mind as it'll give me a chance to work with the 53's before I have to test with one. Our school had 48's.

    Katey Thanks this.

I went to Crowder for the full 5 week course and it really is a good school.

It's been just over a year since I have been there but at the time a guy named RC was running it and he was great, he filled in for our class one day when boot camp wasn't running and our instructor was otherwise occupied.

Did you get any experience with 13 speed transmissions at your school? The boot camp truck (unless they have changed) are old CFI T2000's with 13's in em. Thats also what they use for the orientation tests in Joplin.
