So......you knowingly drove something that wasn't safe? The heat is bad enough, I could put on more clothes, but that would need to be addressed quickly. "But" the breaks? The truck doesn't move until they are fixed, period.

Veteran driver and Lonesome Thank this.

I don't know what "no brakes" means.

If I joined up with an outfit and they gave me a truck with no brakes but refused to fix it, I would’ve handed the keys right back.

    Lonesome Thanks this.

    No brakes?
As in: "watch out lady " or no brakes like : "i can stop alittle bit "
Or no brakes like: " well its time to change the brake pads "
....we are giving you an out here otherwise these guys are gonna chew you up for driving that equipment with bad brakes, having no heat is a very small issue compared to this
And btw experience doesn't mean anything in this industry any more and not only do we have bad trucking companies we also have bad drivers to share the highway with, i should let these guys chew you to pieces but instead i will let you think about it for a minute

I always thought freezing didn't occur til 32 degrees. Maybe "Climate Change" has affected this!

If I remember correctly part of the CDL licencing process was the ability to do a "pre-trip inspection". I'm pretty sure the brakes and HVAC are part of that inspection.

I guess things have changed and you just hop in a truck and take off the moment they toss you the keys.
