Why are these trucking companies generally getting bad reviews? Any insider info appreciated! I’m a CLP holder looking to start training for my CDL and start driving soon.
Just out of curiosity…

Most get bad reviews from the crybaby crowd.

Angry people gripe, those that are not dont post as much. And how good a fit a company is depends of the drivers personality. Among other things....
What is good for one person, may be terrible for another......
It helps to be someone that is okay with anythingLonesome, Lonwolv54, bryan21384 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Hint: good field trainers (for brand new CDL holders) are not plentiful.
Many of them just plain suck at it.....

I will say this no matter how great a company you join if your boss aka dispatcher or whatever terrible, your gonna have a terrible time your gonna hate it there. So, not everyone will not have the same experience, nor if you have a bad mindset saying this company is bad and your just looking for an excuse your either all in or not at all. There is one those I see an obvious problem having been to all those choices Knight, they wouldn't let me take my company truck home per the fleet manager. Had to drive 4 and half hours one way to my house in my personal vehicle to my house every time I took off time. Though to be honest I never did care OTR just wasn't my cup of tea and what you lose at being away from home and people left at home that's my personal opinion. If I had to chose one of those 3, I would choose Swift based on my personal experiences. They may be owned by knight, but how they treat drivers is different.

So many drivers think just because they're on payroll, they should get 3000 miles each week. No. You have to prove yourself available, reliable, adaptable and efficient. Not every driver can get those miles. You must be better than you were on the previous run, and you gotta be better than your coworkers. Need that never say die attitude, and willingness tondo what it takes(safely) to get the load to its destination on time. If you can't prove yourself all 4 of those aforementioned qualities, it'll be tough for you to last in this industry. Drivers' inability to check all 4 of those boxes would be the reasons for bad reviews.Lennythedriver, broke down plumber, drh72 and 6 others Thank this. -
Most carriers will lie, cheat and steal to get a driver in the seat. They'll tell you whatever you want to hear. The biggest lie is pay. Often once you start working for them you realize you aren't making what they told you.
