    still didnt answer the question.

the way i described is perfectly legal....in both DOT eyes and the company. If you want to call the guy here in Edwardsville, and talk to Mark Smith, and ask him if i'm right nor not.....he teaches it that way in his log classes.

how if you want to be a bonehead, and sit behind the wheel, you should actually be on L3. Yeah, truck isnt in motion, but explain to a DOT officer what you're doing on L1,2 or 4 when sitting behind the wheel.

not to spam the boards, just need advice on this

I got this load thismorning. It was originall supposed to be delivered thismorning, it has 3 stops, As they were loading i got a qc message saaying delivery dates are now the 3rd.

I wrote my dm and told him 6 days is a long time do drive 1k miles and I would be there within 24 hours.

he responded, he would look into it., never got a response

now im 350 miles out, and not sure what the answer is, I'll check inwith him again.
I am asking here, is it ok for me to call the recievers myself to ask if i can deliver early. or if that would be unproffesional.

Interpeting DOT regs is like interpreting the Bible. Give 50 people the same verse and you will come up with no fewer than 9 different meanings. "Waiting" to load or unload is, IMO, when you have to wait in line or wait on the dock. When my trailer is docked, I am no longer waiting. They are unloading or loading me and I am free of any responsibility for it. Therefore, I am not on duty.

I have 'heard' (so you know how that goes for veracity) that as soon as you look at a message across the qualcomm, they know you looked at it by some voodoo confirmation because they know you clicked the Next Message button. If you hadn't read the message, you could claim ignorance of the new delivery date. Seems to me your DM is yanking your chain an awful lot-- T-call at a truck stop and turn and burn on another load, 1000 miles load with normal delivery extended out a week? Did you rock the boat recently?

and even if you WERE still responsible for it....and in the sleeper....you're still on L2....regardless.....

Yeah, I think I'm gonna go with sleeper on it from now on, cuz it is eating my 70 up. Scottie i think is right, I remember them saying you are supposed to be line 4 the whole time. But if DOT asks me why i went line 2, i can say, I backed in then took a nap till they tapped on my door and said there done.

injun seems right to me to, the offduty authorize sheet says if your not in responsebility.

so much crap to learn and understand here.

I am currently under a 1680 mile load that does not deliver until the 3r. I refused to accept it until I could t-call it along the way. I'm dropping it in Denver.

Wait...was this the load that was supposed to pick up yesterday, when you caught a case of ****its? Seems that bug is going around. Your shipper, CSR and receiver must have all caught it too.

My dm is kinda ..... crappy,, he is dm just for new drivers. It usually takes a week of calling to get him to answer. Most my questions get handled by night dispatch. hense my troubles out here. I got nowhere to turn to for answers. Hoping I can get them to send me a t-call notice on this load.

****its? no, I caught the case of running legal, And it all turns out it was a good call, they don't load at night, which is when I would have gotten there, and the del dates changed anyway, so there was no reason to run illegal after all.

Say what you want about me being a rookie or what not, I come one here asking for help, and I respect yalls answers, and try and see if they work for me. But you can really knock out the bs crap talking. I'm not in high school, and I doubt you are either, We are adults, and apparently co-workers, so why not just try and help me, or shut up.

its not voodoo, they do know if you look at messages or not. just like you can tell if they've received your message or not, when you see that "A" pop up in the black band at the top of the message.

    any hoo......

I got a preplan that was only a 300 miler....picking up at a flyin j....know what happened to that preplan? it just sat on my qualcomm...didnt accept or decline it. they know better. I'm not going to repower a load out of a truck stop for anybody (unless its a breakdown). if you got the time to t-call it, and have an able truck, you need to take it to a terminal.

what i would do....they give me 6 days to drive 1000 miles....i find a terminal about 100 mi away, and head there. that way you dont run all the miles off the load. Nobody is going to want to take that load after running 999 miles off it. Would you??
