Ok time to be the nun with the ruler.... You started this thread at 10:45 and it is now 12:17... That is an hour and a half in which you could have been studying.

Keep in mind that the test for the hazmat endorsement is the quick part, the background check takes time. How much time depends on the state, some states take 60-90 days since everything goes thru the federal government. And we all know how fast and efficient the feds are when it comes to processing red tape.

It's common for companies to hire and give a deadline for getting endorsements. If you don't get the endorsements; you're FIRED! This is no joke!

Why are you so willing to throw that job down the tunes? From what I hear it's a good job. Up in Washington state, they almost always run doubles. Triples in Oregon. I've also seen some hazmat loads. If you don't have the endorsements to do the job, then what good are you to them? Why not just make the time and get it done?
The god of deliveries could be working for swift soon.Giuseppe Ventolucci Thanks this. -
I don't understand . You already know the answer so why ask the question ?
You know how many people are in line to get your job that already have all the endorsements ? Don't take a chance just take the tests already, a monkey could pass the tests . This isn't calculus , you should be able to memorize the dmv study book in a day.Giuseppe Ventolucci Thanks this. -
2: you don't carry hazmat MUCH? Or at all? The reason is because you don't have the endorsement. All the other P&D drivers are hauling what you can't right now. If you run placarded sometimes anyway, you're running a huge risk; don't do it. They can't afford to change everyone's runs around according to who has what endorsements. LTL companies require the hazmat endorsement (and tanker for bulk haz totes).
The best thing you can do right now is the TSA stuff. Find out where you have to go to get fingerprinted, and get that process started. At least then you'll have a receipt to show the company that you're working on it. My last one took around 2 months, and I couldn't take the test until after I was cleared. You'll have plenty of time to study.
The answer is yes, they can (and will) fire you if you don't have what is required for the job. I remember how happy you were to get that job. Do you seriously want to go back to the Port of Oakland?Giuseppe Ventolucci, bottomdumpin and MidWest_MacDaddy Thank this. -
