Er I tend to either over drama or over reduce complicated stuff to real simple, if not insultingly simple. It's Not my intention at all.
Frankly a little rig working hard is just as good as a big rig working hard. I'll take em all.
Peace to you sir, have a good morning today. -

I am going to do a lease purchase with RT&T Enterprises on the 20th. I wish I knew if I was making a good decision, or not.
G13Tomcat Thanks this. -
When wife and I were with FFE in 2001, one of our taskings was to be a sort of a first response to any single driver of any location in USA or Canada and Mexico being lazy and late. Customer wants trailer NOW. Tonight. It will be there by ultimatum deadline. If not? FFE no longer has the account.
You can only do so much with a 63 mph truck so it falls to the teams in the 71mph president fleet section to try and get it there a hour or two faster. The tractor we had was actually due to be given to the P Fleet but we were issued it as a brand new virgin reward for our efforts pulling a team togehter. And that tractor did well considering. 221000 miles in 10 months...
Unfortunately due to the pre-computer and slow wages complicated by interchanging trailers and customer billing our gross wages were approx half what they could have been. We pulled in 65K for the time there and it should have been in a range of 120 to 160K for two drivers in one truck. That was the cost of keeping accounts. We paid that cost. Fuel came to 85000 to 100K dollars based on 7500 hours on the engine plus about 35000 gallons at approx 2 to 3 dollars per. That is one of the top bills FFE paid on our one truck. Plus a set of tires two times. That's 4000 a set, times 2 8000 dollars. Breakdowns and tows were two to four times totalling approx 12 to 18000 dollars roughly when lost and destroyed JIT appts were factored in. Then there was two accidents for a total of 10K in damage. So...
Billing? Certainly. It's going to cost some money to run a truck. And that did not include the trailers.G13Tomcat Thanks this.
